Terms of use
1. The app
- The app is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use on devices you control.
- You may not redistribute the app, modified or not, under this or another name, and you may not remove its signature or notarization.
- The Helper runs code outside the sandbox on your behalf (plugin backends, file operations, updates). You install it knowingly; the download page says what it does.
- Plugins run with the permissions their manifest declares and the grants you approve in the app. A plugin you install from elsewhere is that author's software, not the operator's.
2. Account and the relay
- An account is needed only for sync. One account per person; you are responsible for your password and for the devices you pair.
- The relay is in early access and free. It is offered as is, with no uptime commitment. A paid hosted plan may be introduced later; existing accounts will be told at least 30 days before any charge applies, and nothing is charged without your explicit agreement.
- The relay may be changed or discontinued. If it is discontinued you will be told at least 30 days in advance; your data is on your devices and needs no export from the relay.
- Storage per account may be limited. Envelopes are deleted on delivery or after 30 days as described in the privacy policy.
3. Encryption keys
Your content is encrypted on your devices with keys the operator does not hold. If you lose every device and the recovery code, the operator cannot restore your data. This is the point of the design, not a defect, and it is stated in the threat model.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not use the relay to store or move content you have no right to, or to attack, probe or overload the service or other users.
- Do not connect an app through OAuth on someone else's behalf without their knowledge.
- Accounts that violate this section can be suspended or deleted; where possible you are told first.
5. Plugins built to order
A plugin the operator builds for you is covered by a separate written agreement (scope, price, ownership, delivery). These terms apply to the app the plugin runs in.
6. AI vendors
The AI tab runs software from Anthropic, OpenAI or Google under your own account with them. Their terms apply to that use; the operator is not a party to it and does not route, store or see that traffic.
7. No warranty
The app and the relay are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. You use them at your own risk. Keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from the app or the relay. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid the operator for the service in the 12 months before the claim (for a free service, zero).
9. Termination
You can stop at any time: delete the account in the app (Settings, Sync) and remove the app. The operator can end the relay service for an account under section 4 or on discontinuation under section 2.
10. Changes
Changes to these terms are dated at the top. A change that affects the relay is announced in the app's update notes before it takes effect. Continued use after the date is acceptance.
